ProRep’s XYZ Travel Time Calculation Module determines accurate standard travel times based on the optimum travel path and actual equipment used. The result is more accurate measurement of associate performance in operations where travel is a significant portion of the work day.
The XYZ module calculates the standard times of each horizontal and vertical movement by using a map of the facility and tables that specify vehicle speeds and characteristics. To perform the actual daily calculations, ProRep imports the individual transactions from files provided by WMS, pick-to-light, voice directed or other similar systems. The XYZ module also requires use of the External Data Interface Module.
The XYZ module has been designed to aid the engineer in setting up the map of the facility and the required tables. A lot of visual feedback is provided during the setup process. For example, a graphical depiction of the facility is shown on screen. It shows the layout of the storage locations and other locations in the facility and the defined possible travel paths. A start and stop position of a move can be entered and an animation is displayed showing the actual travel path that is used to calculate the standard travel time.
ProRep’s graphical interface also help managers comprehend the system and use it to track down operational issues. After the WMS data is imported into ProRep, a user can view an on-screen animation of all of the movements made through the facility by an associate that day.
